TINA REMBISH

Coach Rembish enters her sixth year with the Falcons as an experienced high school English teacher and coach. Having played MH for the cross-town rival "team that wears red" under legendary coach Ed Bengermino, Coach Rembish went on to play Division I volleyball at The University of Connecticut. During her first year at Ludlowe, the Falcons finished their season with a 19-7 record, advancing to the Connecticut State Championship match by defeating the #1-ranked Cheshire team. More recent recognitions include capturing the FCIAC Eastern Division title in 2025, advancing to the FCIAC Championship match. 

 

She emphasizes the importance of academics, as every team she has coached at Ludlowe has received the prestigious American Volleyball Coaches Association "Honor Roll" recognition for outstanding academic achievement. Before she came out of retirement, Rembish held various club and high school coaching positions, including the head coach for Trumbull Girls' Volleyball, where, during the first year of her 9-year tenure, the team turned a 5-15 record around to 16-4.

 

Her time at Trumbull included several "firsts" for the program, including beating Darien High School, competing in the FCIAC finals, and advancing to the CIAC semifinals. Other coaching recognitions include her distinction as an FCIAC Coach of Excellence in 2021 and 2025, selection to coach the FCIAC Senior All-Star Team in 2021, and selection in 2001 and 2024 to coach the CIAC Senior All-Star Volleyball Game.

 

She received her CAP Level I coaching accreditation from USA Volleyball in 2000 and has received  AOC Level I and II Head Coaching Certification. She is a member of the USVBA, the Connecticut High School Coaches Association, and the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

 

Her philosophy is volleyball first; family and school always. She uses reflective notebook writing with holistic sports psychology training to address the most important “6 inches on the court” by developing the whole athlete. She has mentored coaches and players for over two decades. Coach Rembish has three grown children and resides in Bridgeport with her husband, two dogs, and a cat. She loves to read, garden, and birdwatch in her spare time. She feels blessed to work with the athletes in the program, and her favorite part of the day is getting on the floor with the Falcons!
